Billing Policy

As we are proud to be a Bulk Billing Surgery. If you are a holder of a current Medicare card, ALL consultations will be Bulk Billed. Please ensure that you have your current Medicare card and Pension or Health Care card with you at the time of the consultation.

If you are an overseas visitor, please ask at reception for our current consultation fees.

There are some services that might not be covered by Medicare. Our receptionist or staff will advise you.

Specialist Referrals

The Health Commission requires a referral from your Doctor before seeing any Specialist privately or through the Hospital system in order to claim a Medicare rebate. It is an offence for a GP to BACK DATE a referral, so please obtain your referral before your Specialist or Hospital appointment.

Appointment Cancellation Policy

Algester Star Doctors possesses the right to refuse service after two consecutive cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment. Under the manager’s discretion, we cannot guarantee future appointments after this policy has been breached to ensure equity to other patients.

Comments & Complaints

If for any reason you are not happy with any aspect of our Medical Centre’s service, please inform us immediately. We strive to provide you with the best possible service. You can discuss your concerns in person or in writing and we will respond to them promptly.

No Smoking

Please be advised that no smoking is allowed in the building or within 4 metres of our surgery doors.
